Matías was born in the U.S. and grew up playing rugby in Buenos Aires, winning selection in Buenos Aires’ U18s and U21s teams. He went on to play for the Argentina Pumas in the HSBC World Sevens Series in 2018, before moving to the MLR with the Sabercats in 2020.
Matías is a versatile back, who is as comfortable in the midfield as he is at fullback. He is a strong ball carrier and will look to inject some flair and pace into SD Legion’s backline.

Matias proved to be a valuable addition to the Sabercats in 2020. He started four times, splitting time at center and fullback.Matias was born in the U.S. and grew up playing rugby in Buenos Aires.
Matias played rugby for Club Newman from 2015-2019. He has played representative Rugby for the Buenos Aires under 18s and Under-21s teams. He also played for the Argentina Pumas twice in the HSBC World Sevens Series, making his debut at the Singapore Sevens in 2018. Matiaa is a versatile back, who is as comfortable in the midfield as he is at fullback. He is a strong ball carrier and has injected some flair and pace to the Sabercats backline.
