Growing up in Langley, British Columbia, Murray, 24, attended and played for Brookswood Secondary, spent two seasons with PRCs Valley Central, Langley RFC, and at 15 was selected for the BC side.
After completing high school, Murray moved to England playing for the Yorkshire D1 side and Scarborough RUFC. Murray joined the Canada U18’s in 2015 before moving to Auckland, New Zealand. In Auckland, Murray competed with Ardmore Marist and Counties Manakau U19s. He aided the Counties Manukau side to gold in the Jock Hobbs tournament.
Returning to Canada in Victoria, BC in 2017, Murray was selected for the Canada U20s at the World Rugby Trophy competition. Later, he joined the Canada Selects team and Canada A side in Montevideo, Uruguay.
The 2018 campaign Murray was with the BC Bears in the Canadian Rugby Championship league and played in the Rugby Americas Selects.
The following two years Murray spent with Pacific Pride Academy, Canada’s National Development Program. He also joined Canada on the American Rugby Championship in 2019 and was included on the World Cup long list.
Making the move to MLR play, Murray played for the Houston SaberCats and Toronto Arrows during the 2021 season. In July 2021, Murray gained his first cap with Canada debuting off the bench against Canada.
