The Houston SaberCats signed David Coetzer for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 22-year-old flyhalf (23 in February) is 5’9″ and 185 lbs.

David is from Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and attended Selborne College, where he played water polo and rugby.

In 2018 and 2019 he played with the Junior Springboks at the World Rugby U20 Championship, and also layed with the Western Province U19s and U21s. In 2020 he played with the Blue Bulls U21 side, which won the South African Rugby U21 championship.

In 2021 he played with the University of Pretoria Tuks Rugby in the Varsity Cup competition.”
