One of the league’s most successful expansion franchises, the New England Free Jacks are the Northeast’s professional rugby team launched in 2018 who joined competition in 2020. Since entering the league, New England has won 10 or more matches in four straight seasons.
One of two repeat champions, the Free Jacks claimed the 2023 and 2024 MLR Shields, defeating the San Diego Legion and Seattle Seawolves in consecutive MLR Championship games.
New England won two Eastern Conference titles in the process of its shield pursuits, qualifying for a third in the process. Quincy’s Veterans Memorial Stadium plays host to New England, a 5,000-seat stadium known across the league for its passion and noise. Woodgy is the team’s official mascot introduced in May 2021.
