Founded in 2017, the NOLA Gold began play during the inaugural 2018 season, drafting a unique history in the Big Easy. During its first match, NOLA bested Houston in a 35-26 victory, marking a milestone in the team’s journey. In 2024, the franchise earned its first playoff berth and subsequent home playoff game after a second-place finish in the Eastern Conference.

NOLA plays its home matches at the Gold Mine on Airline, a 10,000-capacity stadium in the East Bank suburb of Metairie. The franchise launched a Vision 31 project, setting up the franchise to grow the game in its city and across the country leading up to the 2031 Rugby World Cup.
